This summer, the Office of Campus Advising Coordination (OCAC) proudly welcomed the eighth cohort of graduates into our growing Advising Certificate Program alumni community. This milestone marks another chapter in our shared commitment to Advising the Student of Today — a central theme of the program from the start.

We’re especially proud to note that 83% of participants have been retained at UCSC and the vast majority continue in advising. As the program prepares to pause for the upcoming year, OCAC looks forward to using this time to thoughtfully reflect on the feedback and insights gathered over the years and to reimagine what the future of the certificate program might hold.

“The certificate program has built a stronger, more connected advising community rooted in growth and shared purpose,” said Verónica López-Durán, assistant director for programs advising. “As we look ahead, we’re excited to build on that foundation and continue supporting advisors with the tools and mindset to guide every student’s journey.”

Congratulations to all of this year’s graduates! Your dedication continues to shape the future of advising at UCSC. Please join us in celebrating and welcoming the newest members of our alumni community. We are 90 strong!
