From East Los Angeles to UC Santa Cruz to leading sound production at Warner Bros., Porter alum Cuauhtemoc Martinez has built a life in sound.

To reflect the central role enrollment plays in the university’s academic mission and long-term financial sustainability, Enrollment Management will report directly to the campus provost and executive vice chancellor.

UC Santa Cruz received two of the five GEAR UP Partnership grants in California, expanding educational access and opportunities for Central Coast students and families.

Each hub will serve two colleges, expanding availability and connecting students with coordinated support from professional and peer advisors.

The Central Coast K-16 Regional Collaborative, led by UC Santa Cruz’s Educational Partnership Center, is funding nearly 100 paid internships that connect local students with career pathways in high-demand fields across the region.

Since 2000, the partnership has provided tens of thousands of local students with academic guidance, family engagement, and strong community connections to help them prepare for college.

Starting Fall 2025, UC Santa Cruz will charge a one-time fee that gives students free lifetime access to official academic records, including transcripts and enrollment verifications.
